Hello!
Up this morning about 7:30 am and truly, it’s totally black outside! Where is 1) the light and 2) the sunshine?! Truly have to say that it is NOT a pleasant day today! We had planned on getting 1-day passes as our 1-week transit passes expired last night, and doing some bus/tram joy-riding, which we normally very much enjoy. I wasn’t sure exactly how the 1-day tickets would work, so walked down to the Fourviere funiculaire to see what I could do. Well, it took a bit of finagling, but I was actually able to get us two all-day tickets – of course, the machine wouldn’t take my credit card, so I had to come up with 12.40€ in cash, which involved buying a bottle of water across the street to get enough change! Eventually, I was able to complete the transactions – Yeah! Back to the flat, and Robert laid out an interesting route – the problem was, by the time we got things re-packed and re-organized, and looked outside – and it had outdone itself for gray. When I went to get the transit tickets, it said it was 40 degrees but felt like 34 – and it sure did! Yuck! So, we decided that joy-riding was not going to happen, and we were very happy to stay in our cozy apartment until it was time to go out for lunch!
Our apartment elevator- says it holds 3 people?!
Excellent frisee salad!
R's avocado and shrimp!
Not very good Croque Monsieur!

Bus C3 to C13 and up to Croix Rousse and Bouillion Bistrot yet again! We actually got to sit at a slighter larger table this time – YEAH! - which was very nice. We both re-ordered what we had had last week – avocado and shrimp for R and frisee salad with
lardons for me; both delicious! For mains, this time I ordered Croque Monsieur – it’s a fancy name for a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with fries. It was good but certainly not great; I won’t order it again. Robert repeated his bavette steak with frites, and enjoyed it very much! Again, chocolate mousse for me for dessert and R just had coffee. Again, some confusion on what happened to the C-13 bus in Croix Rousse (we were told it stopped running but one showed up anyway), and eventually we made our way back to the flat.
Leftover chicken, potatoes and green beans for dinner, and then a final clean up in the kitchen.
Tomorrow morning, we have to take trash downstairs, clean the bathroom sink area and that’s about it! We’ll be hitting the road, so on to Brittany!
Much love,
m
